Ballet Dance - Dreaming To Perform

Dear Odette,
This year I've been so much impressed by 3 Neumaier choreographies. I already told you about "Purgatorio", the ballet about Gustav Mahler, his wife Alma and Walter Gropius.
The second was Josephs Legende, the story about Joseph in Egypt, seduced by Potiphar's wife.
The 3rd was Romeo and Juliet.

I dream to one day performing these 3 ballets as a male lead or in the corps. In Purgatorio and Joseph it's the relationship between a young man and a mature woman, frustrated by their elder husbands, in R&J it's of course the love between young boy and girl to be interpreted. So it's great to show those aspects of love in ballet.

The attached pics show scenes from those ballets. I like Neumaier's choreographies with their special "body-language" and their very distinct costuming underlining the characters. He likes contrasts, "flowing" costumes of the ballerinas and showing body lines of the male dancers which gives a very special esthetics to his ballets.

Hi Odette, it's so hopeful we have so many promising young dancer and it is great they get the chance dancing choreographies created for them. I add a picture with four members of the Hamburg ballet school, the girl is 16, the boys 17 and 18. They got the chance to perform before a big audience Neumaier's "Spring and Fall", which is a piece along music by Dvorak and contains solos for the first boy and the girl as well as pas de trois of the boys and a Pas de deux of the first boy and the girl. In the group they dance like one unit which is so joyous to watch. The white colour of their costumes underlines that unity together with their charisma of youth. I hope you like the picture.
